Getting started

Start with one useful thing. Build from there.

Open UP TIMER, choose the timer or utility that helps with what you are doing now, and add the other parts only when they earn their place. UP Capture is there for the notes, ideas, questions and to-dos that appear along the way.

Opening the page does not start Lite. Your continuous two-hour daily window begins only when you start your first timer, and then continues even if an individual timer is paused or reset.

A simple first setup

Start simple. Adjust after real use.

Start with one timer, test the alert behaviour once, and let real use tell you what to adjust next. Installation is optional.

Open UP TIMER

Go to timer.uptimer.app . Opening the page alone does not start your Lite window.

Lite starts when you start your first timer. Starting Interval Timer also counts as a timer start. The two-hour window then continues continuously, including while an individual timer is paused or reset.

Pick the timer that helps right now

Focus is a natural place to begin, but it does not have to be first. Start with Focus, Hydrate, Move or Learn according to what you actually need. If the job is simply a repeated training/rest cycle, use Interval Timer instead.

Set only the essentials

Choose sensible settings rather than trying to perfect the whole system on day one: focus and break lengths, Hydrate target and working hours, Move cadence and duration, Learn session times and deck, or Training and Rest times in Interval Timer.

Put interruptions into UP Capture

When a note, idea, question or to-do appears, capture it while it is fresh instead of turning it into the next task. Decide, plan and act on it later when you are ready.

Test notifications and audio once

Allow browser notifications if you want them, choose an available alert sound or male or female voice, check device volume and run a test while the timer page is open.

Some browsers require an interaction with the page before audio is allowed to play.

Know what acknowledgement means

When a timer event is due, the on-screen prompt remains active. If persistent audio is selected, it can continue until you respond.

Acknowledgement means the prompt was seen. It does not verify that the suggested real-world action was completed. See how acknowledgement works.

Adjust after real use

Notice which timings help, which prompts arrive too often and which parts you genuinely use. Keep what works and change the rest.

What to configure

Set the tools you use. Leave the rest alone.

The four core timers have independent settings. Interval Timer is an optional work/rest utility. UP Capture has a different job again: get the item down first, then decide what happens to it later.

Optional installation

Use it in the browser. Install it when that is more convenient.

You do not need to install anything before using UP TIMER. Installation is simply another way to launch the same web-based product on supported devices.

Browser

Use it straight away

Go to timer.uptimer.app and work normally. Opening the page does not start your Lite window.

Desktop

Install UP TIMER

In a compatible desktop browser, use the browser install option when it is available. Installed UP TIMER can launch independently from the normal browser window; on Windows this can include Start menu or taskbar access.

Phone

Install or add to Home Screen

On supported Android devices, use the available Install UP TIMER option. On iPhone and iPad, use the browser sharing controls and choose Add to Home Screen where available. Android and iOS behaviour is not identical.

Same account, same access model. Installation does not create a separate mobile purchase. Sign in with the same UP TIMER account when you want account-based access on another supported device. Do not assume every preference or running timer synchronises live between devices. Notifications, voice, sound and background behaviour depend on the browser, installed-app environment, operating system, permissions and power-management settings.

Access, without surprises

Start with Lite. Try Full only when you choose.

You can start before creating an account. The Full trial is a separate step you activate manually when you are ready.

Lite

Start free.

Up to one continuous two-hour window each day. It begins when you start your first timer, not when you open the page.

Full trial

3 days / 72 hours.

Create an account, then activate the trial manually. No card is required and the trial does not automatically convert into paid access.

Full

$59.99/year.

Recurring annual membership. Subscribe only if you want to continue with Full after trying the complete system.

Notification & audio help

No sound or notification?

Work through these checks in order. Browser, installed-app, device and operating-system rules can affect notifications, audio and background behaviour.

Keep UP TIMER available

Use it in the browser or installed web app, but do not rely on alerts after the browser or installed app has been fully closed or terminated. Power-saving and background restrictions also vary.

Check site permission

Open the browser settings for timer.uptimer.app and confirm notifications are allowed rather than blocked.

Check device and tab audio

Confirm the device volume is audible, the browser tab is not muted and the selected UP TIMER alert is enabled.

Interact, then test

Click or tap inside the timer page before testing audio. Browsers can restrict playback before the first user interaction.

Reload after changing permissions

Refresh the timer and test again. If the problem continues, email support@uptimer.app with your device, operating system and browser.

Ready to begin

Start with one timer. Keep everything else simple.

Start free with Lite. Add the other core timers when they help, use Interval Timer when you want a simple training/rest cycle, and use UP Capture when something unplanned enters your head. You only move to the Full trial or Full membership when you choose to.
